Wendywood Rockets

Our Grade R classes started off officially in 2009 under the watchful eye of Mr Driver, who sat one afternoon underneath a tree to design the Grade R facility for Wendywood Primary. Since then our Grade R Rockets have soared to unbelievable heights. We currently have 3 classes. They follow the CAPS curriculum and augmented with different learning programs. There are many wonderful functions from the Grade R Rockets and their teachers.

They host many beautiful events such as:

Grandparents Day

Spring Hat day

Heritage Day Braai

And then the final and most auspicious – Graduation at the end of the year

We focus on a holistic development for our Grade R children and ensure that they are water safe and confident before they leave Grade R. We have dancing classes for them once a week. They also have Music and Physical Education, as the rest of the school does.

We ensure our little Rockets are ready perceptually; fine and gross motorly; emotionally and socially for their next step into “Big School!”
